We had such a blast on our little mini vacation!! There were lots of dinners and drinks on patios, swims in the lake and castles in the sand. We also enjoyed touring some vineyards.
This was our first road trip with the kids and they couldn’t have done better. Although, we did get stuck on the highway due to an accident ahead which added another hour onto our 5 hour drive.
This was also the first time the girls shared a room. I was so excited to see how it would go as we are planning to room them together at some point.
The first night was a DEFINITE fail. They took turns waking each other up for 2.5 hours straight. As soon as it hit 5am Ava was out of her playpen and over in Sophie’s. Nothing like an early morning call after a long night!!
But the rest of the nights went very smooth. So in the grand scheme of things it went really smooth.
Here are some amazing MUST HAVES for the beach.
Toy Bucket // Swim Suit //Sunnies // Hat
PS that bucket is the BEST. It has EVERYTHING you can imagine from shovels to funnels. Best purchase EVER.
Here are some snaps of our vacay fun.

Wow you have such a gorgeous family!! 🙂
I am glad to hear you had a great trip. We are going to Okanagan in a few weeks actually and I was wondering how the drive would be from Vancouver. We have take our boys on a long plane ride but not a long road trip!! Did you have to make many stops on the way??
Thanks for sharing beach essentials! 🙂

Hey sweet mama! I would say I like the place rides over car rides but that’s just coming from a flight attendant in me. It was actually a lot better that I thought it would be !! We stopped twice one the at there ( coquahala hwy) once in hope and once in Merrit. And twice on way back once on Keramias and once in Chilliwack (Princeton route ) . Kids did AMAZING just make sure they are nice and worn out for the car ride. My girls are 9 months and 2 years old and they both did real good!

love your photos! and such great advice for taking a roadtrip. I remember the first time I took my little Devin on a road trip. He was Ava’s age and it was 8+ hours to the Kootneys. We broke it up over two days. I agree, tucker ’em out before you head out. A sleeping babe in the back seat is roadtrip bliss!
