It’s been a little while since I wrote an update on our Hive smart home products and with a new season upon us it would be a wonderful time to fill you guys in once again on how much we love our smart home. 
The amazing thing about having a smart home is, well, it’s SMART. It can be customized to fit all your needs and lifestyle. With seasons changing, it’s been so amazing to have a smart home and change it to accommodate our life.

We have been travelling so much this summer. With more trips planned, Hive has made our lives so much easier. When we get ready to leave we always set our away dates in the Hive Smart Thermostat and the thermostat will turn off until we return. If you worry about the house temperature when you’re away, just pop into the Hive app on your phone and see what the temperature is and adjust with a touch of a finger. 
If you’re concerned about your homes safety while you’re away, Hive really takes it to the next level to put your mind at ease. My absolute FAVOURITE feature is the “mimic” mode. This feature switches your chosen Hive Lights on and off to mimic human activity so no one suspects you are out of the house. Another feature of Hive that we’ve utilized when we’re away is the Hive View smart indoor camera. Check up on your house on your phone wherever you might be. We have our Hive Motion Sensor set up right across from the front door and we usually turn on notifications when we’re gone. If there is motion detected it’s so easy to check in on what’s going on with our Hive View camera so we never have to worry about a thing. The camera also detects motion and records on an activity log so you can go back in time to replay video. Last year we had an attempted break in and subsequent damage to my hubby’s car. Now he makes sure the Hive View camera is placed to monitor the inside as well as the driveway with it’s wide angle view. 
Since our home doesn’t have air conditioning, our bedroom gets pretty hot in the afternoon, so we have a portable AC set up. With the Hive Plug it’s so easy to control the AC from wherever we are. It truly makes life easier and more enjoyable. 
One other Hive feature we’ve really been utilizing lately is the Hive Window/Door Sensors. It always worries me that our kids can now open and close doors so we have installed the sensors. I can now rest assured that I will get a notification when the door is opened and not have to worry about their safety. Hive has really made our lives so much easier, especially being a busy family on the go. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten to turn off the lights or turn up the heat before we got home, and now I never have to worry about it because it’s all at my finger tips.
