Well another year is coming to a close and I’m not going to lie, I am more than ready to start fresh.
Although it has been a great year, it hasn’t been the best month for us recently. My husband’s airline unexpectedly closed it’s doors, leaving him jobless and at a bit of a loss.
Thankfully it ended up being a great time in the aviation industry and the next week he got a call for a job interview at a great airline. They told him he would have to interview ASAP, leaving us minimal time to get him ready. Thankfully that went great and he moved onto stage two, the flight simulator test in Toronto. Within one hour of completing the test he got the call to show up for training in 3 days time across the country.
So we scrambled and shipped him off. He was back in Toronto for the next 6-8 weeks.
Im very happy that we got a lot of holiday stuff done before he left. We got Santa photos done (the kids weren’t so sure about him this year). Our tree is up and decorated and we even got a dump of snow to play around in right before he left.
It is a little bitter sweet. We are so happy for his career but we miss him terribly.
So if you find me a little absent and quiet over the next little while, it’s because I’m either hiding under a rock and trying to catch my breath or chasing after my crazy toddlers and trying to keep up with all the house chores.
Nonetheless, it has been a GREAT year.
It was our first year in a house. The year when we saw our little girls become sisters and best friends. It was the year I started my blog. There is lots to celabrate and be thankful for.
We can’t wait for daddy to come home for a couple days during Christmas. Fingers crossed that he gets a Vancouver base soon and doesn’t have to commute to Toronto like so many pilots are forced to do.
Well, I’m done with my little sob party and I wish you all wonderful Holidays filled with your most loved ones.
