If you have been following me on Instagram or if you’ve read “Why does one start a blog…” you know that we bought and moved into a house last fall. When we moved, Ava was just 18 months old and Sophie was 6 weeks old. The house was not in bad condition but the paint and trim DEFINITELY needed updating.
So we dove in.
Let me tell you how its going.
SLOW.
VERY SLOW.
SLOWER THAN LIFE.
Renos are a royal pain in anyone’s arss. It’s even more of a pain when you have tiny children. The reno work revolves around nap times and meal times. There are tiny hands trying to get into everything. It’s early mornings and late nights finishing odd ends and prepping for the day ahead.
And it’s all mixed in with sleep regressions, teething and well the terrible two ain’t helping. We have swapped out sleeping arrangements, eaten breakfast for dinner and have dusted and dusted and DUSTED more times than I want to think about.
It is trying.
But to me, it’s worth it.
Everything is going at a snail pace. We started right After Chrismas and we are finally GETTING THERE. Although it feels like we will never be done ( said every person who renod EVER).
The walls were a dark yellow/brown colour and we wanted to go for a white and bright look so it’s taking us 5 whooping coats of paint to cover it up. But I am LOVING the results.
I am going to share more of the house as we decorate it but for now it’s a lot of white walls (yay) and not much else as we moved from a 600 sq ft condo to a nearly 2000 sq. foot house.
