Since summer travel is around the corner I thought this would be the perfect time to recap our Mother’s Day weekend at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
I know most people associate Whistler with winter and snow but it’s amazing just how much there is to do during the warmer months.
If you’re looking for a rounded vacation spot, the Fairmont is your go to for sure.
The hotel is more of a resort I would say, it has everything and anything you would want out of your stay at Whistler.
It is located right at the bottom of Blackcomb Mountain.
When you’re booking a room DEFINITELY upgrade to one of their view rooms. I’m not going to bother describing the view since the photo below speaks for itself.
The highlight of our trip was HANDS DOWN the Mother’s Day brunch.
The brunch was held at “The Wildflower” restaurant which is located by the lobby.
It is single handedly one of the most divine brunches you will ever attend and you will feel pampered and loved to the nines and your taste buds will never be the same after you taste all the deliciousness that is set out.
One of our favourite parts of the stay was DEFINITELY the pool.
The hotel has an array of indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, so take your pick. All the pools are heated so that’s a BONUS if you’re visiting during the chillier months. There are also little outdoor sauna huts during the cooler season for you to warm up in.
The hotel also has a great spa that you must certainly visit.
My hubby surprised me with a Mother’s Day massage which was the most relaxing way to start the day.
If you’re bored of laying by the pool, the hotel runs many daily activities that you can join in such as perfume lab, guided nature walks, exercise classes, and much more. There is something new happening every day!!
There was a whole lot of Mother’s Day themed activities happening during the weekend.
Whistler has some of the most beautiful lakes.
We made sure to check out Lost Lake which is just a few minutes away from the hotel and it was STUNNING, the water so warm even though it was early spring. The hotel offers guided hikes around the lake or you can check it out at your leisure.
Now, we all know that one of the best parts of travelling is obviously the FOOD.
The Fairmont has many many options to choose from when it comes to wining and dinning. I’ve already mentioned the Wildflower where we had the Mother’s Day brunch.
We also checked out the Portabello Smokehouse restaurant which offers more casual dinning with an open kitchen and made to order sandwiches, open flame rotisserie chicken, pork ribs and delectable smoked brisket. Everything was finger licking good and I’m pretty sure nothing will ever top that brisket in our life time.
If you’re looking for some amazing ambiance and relaxed atmosphere to wind down at the end of the day, don’t forget to check out the Mallard Lounge before you turn in for the night. Cozy up on one of their couches or warm your feet by the fireplace and enjoy the live music performance.
On our last day we enjoyed breakfast at the Clubhouse which is located at the Fairmont Golf Resort just 5 minutes down the road. The kids we over the moon about their pancakes and whipped cream and my salmon bowl was such an explosion of flavours.
To sum it all up, this was nothing short of the MOST perfect Mother’s Day possible. We are looking forward to being back and maybe making it a Mother’s Day tradition spending it at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
