We recently got the chance to try out the Hello Fresh Canada meal subscription services and I cannot wait to tell you guys about my experience.
Spoiler alert: WE LOVED IT!!
So here is my Hello Fresh review.
To start, I was slayed with the WORST cold a few weeks ago so the box arrived at my house at a VERY convenient time.
So first things first:
How it works:
Oh so simple.
Go to www.hellofresh.ca and choose the options which suit you best.
There are so many choices to fit YOU, meals for 2 or for 4. Vegetarian option and the quick and simple “Pronto” option. We went for the Family Plan option.
You choose the 3 out of 4 options they have and the next week the box is at your door.
What’s in the box:
The top has all the non-perishables divided into boxes for each recipe (such as grains, potatoes, spices etc..) then underneath the icepacks you get your meat and other foods that need to be kept cold.
You also get a handy dandy recipe book.
The Prep: The prep is truly the easiest thing since sliced pie.
The recipe cards give very easy step by step instructions, most of the time the ingredients come pre-cut and pre-measured so you don’t even have to think TWICE (I did have to peel some ginger though HAHA)
The Result:
Pictures say a thousand words so VOILA!!
My hesitation was that the portions would be small, BUT NO THEY ARE NOT (The Dal was a few days of leftovers for US and the KIDS)
The conclusion:
LOVED IT! I will definitely be ordering again during the busy weeks to come, and there will be a few since my husband is based in Toronto (across the country) until April so this mama will need a lot of easy meals.
I love that the portions are big and provide leftovers. The variety of meals in a pack is very nice, you don’t feel like you are eating the same thing every day. The ingredients were fresh and amazing quality. The instructions we SO easy to follow that my 2.5 year old did most of the cooking and my amazing husband helped (since I was down for the count for a few days). And everything was VERY delicious, I am keeping the recipe cards and will be attempting to recreate !!
Is it worth the price?
I’ll put it this way: YES, we wouldn’t be able to subscribe to it on going, but it is a great option for once or twice a month when you know you have a busy week and don’t have much time to grocery shop or break your head thinking “what’s for dinner?
And SURPRISE : I have a DISCOUNT CODE FOR YA!!
Use the code KAT60 to get $30 off your first TWO boxes.
