The past few days we have been exploring our gorgeous back yard, the Harrison Lake/River.
It is no secret that summer is my favourite season. So to chase away the gloom of fall and impeding winter we have planned ourselves out a little holiday!!
It’s the perfect time to take a get away, still warm yet so picturesque with all the leaves turning.
We split our little weekend between two places to keep it fresh.
First stop was the famous Harrison Hot Springs.
Harrison is one of the most popular destinations in B.C. especially due to its close proximity to Vancouver.
We stayed at the gorgeous Harrison Beach Hotel.
It is the perfect place to go with your family. Located right in the nucleus of the strip, it’s close to all the local attractions and restaurants.
The room we were in was SO spacious. It had a separate living room and kitchenette area. It was so perfect as we were able to put the kids to sleep in a separate area.
But my most favourite part BY FAR would be the GIGANTIC balcony overlooking the lake. Ahhhh, the perfect place to relax at sunset right after the kids are in bed.
Before checking into the hotel we actually caught the Harrison River Boat Tour by Shoreline Tours. It was so picturesque and the weather was just perfect. The crew were so sweet and knowledgeable about the area, I had no idea that the lake has SO much history behind it. And the colour of that water can sweep anyone off their feet (thank you glacier run off).
And let me tell ya those girls can make mean bbq burgers onboard.
For dinner we enjoyed the german cuisine at Black Forest Restaurant, Yumm. Their tap beer is AMAZING and I won’t ever start on the schnitzel and bratwurst!!
Before heading off we had breakfast at the Muddy Watters Cafe. Filled with friendly faces and warm smiles and most delicious yogurt parfait you can find. PSSTT if you’re there for breakfast get the salmon english muffin, finger licking good!! It was well worth getting completely drenched in the downpour that we got caught in trying to make it back to the hotel 2 blocks away.
And off we were on another adventure.
Stay tuned for more.
