A bit crazy that it’s the middle of fall already. It’s a little hard to believe since the weather has been so WARM recently.
Fall is such a busy season for us; Sophie’s birthday (how is that girl two already), Halloween, and our anniversary. Plus getting back into preschool routine and starting all the indoor activities, all while fighting a million colds (hello school germs).
With the weather being ever changing and days becoming shorter and settling into a new routine, our Hive smart home has been such a lifesaver. Since it’s been a few months living with Hive Welcome Home Plan and receiving a few questions from you guys, I decided why not give an update.
I’ll start by saying that the thing I love MOST is the Hive Active thermostat. I love how easy it is to schedule, but more than anything I love how I can control it from my phone (which means I can do it from bed). Ava’s been up at the crack of dawn lately and there is no telling when she will be up. So when I hear her coming out of her room I quickly turn the heat on, that way we don’t end up heating the whole house for hours if everyone is still asleep. With the weather being so hot and cold (literally), it’s nice to have the thermostat at my fingertips, especially being so busy with the kids.
I’ve also been loving the Hive Active Lights, I can schedule them to come on when it starts getting dark (cuz I’m secretly scared of the dark). It’s reassuring to leave some of the lights on dim through the night (I love how they are dimmable), just makes me feel more secure and I don’t have to trip over stuff if I have to go get something in the middle of the night. With the schedule control I don’t have to worry about forgetting to turn everything off in the morning.
I was even able to turn all the lights off on my phone when we needed to bring out the birthday cake for Sophie (kinda cool hey).
With the days getting so much shorter I have also been really thankful for Hive Window/Door Sensors and Hive Motion Sensor. I am totally scared of the dark and I always feel spooked. We have one of our lights set to come on when motion sensor detects movement in the entrance.
I remember when we just moved into the house, my husband got called to work and it was my first night alone with the girls in the new house. It was early November so it got dark pretty early and it was raining cats and dogs and someone had knocked on the door. Since I was a little spooked I never answered the door but I could see that someone was lurking in the shadows by the garage so it left me feeling uneasy. Boy do I wish I had those sensors then so I could rest assured no one was getting in without me knowing.
Hive Active Plug has also come in handy when I have to turn the slow cooker on when I’m running other errands.
All in all, I love that Hive’s smart home ecosystem is so adaptable to you and your homes needs, I simply don’t know how I lived without it.
I promise I’m done with all the praising, with all this said I am happy to say that Hive is offering my readers a 10% off with code HIVEKATERYNA10.
