Raise your hand if you can’t start your day without a cup (or 3 š) of java .
I’m actually going to come clean and say that I wasn’t really a coffee person all my life. I always liked coffee but I had it maybe once or twice a week, and only if I really needed a boost. But as the years went on and, well a couple kids later, I can say that me and coffee are tight. When I smell someone making coffee, I instantly need a cup myself.
We have a few coffee makers in the house, but the one that gets used the most is our Keurig. I am NOT a morning person and I pretty much cannot face the world, neither should the world face ME, before I get a sip of coffee.
I have a wonderful husband, who knows me all too well, who tries to make sure I get my caffeine dose as soon as I wake up (love you honey). But being a pilot, he’s not home every day to make that happen. SOOOO this is where my eternal love for Keurig is born.
Making coffee has never been so easy and fast. It’s so easy my 4 year old made it for me one morning, she clearly wanted to butter me up for something. The kids literally beat me downstairs by a couple of minutes and as I made my way down I smelled the heavenly aroma, and then it hit me, my hubby wasn’t home. Just then I turned around and saw Ava grinning ear to ear, all full of pride that she’d made it herself.
Did you know that all KeurigĀ® K-CupĀ® pods sold in Canada will be recyclable by the end of 2018? They are made of plastic #5 that is widely accepted in municipal recycling programs in Canada and British Columbia. Keurig has been working with various recycling facilities across North America, including Recycle BC, to make sure that pods can easily make it from your recycling bins to recycling facilities to ensure a useful second life.
Now I am not going to lie, sometimes recycling can be a hassle BUT it’s so easy and fast to recycle the pods. Here is what you do.
- After you’re done making coffee, let it cool and peel off the foil lid
- Empty and Compost the coffee grounds
- Recycle the #5 plastic cup alongside your other recyclable containersSo easy!!
The girls love being a part of the coffee making and helping out when it comes to recycling the pods, it’s a great way to bring up the importance of recycling.
Although the recyclable K-CupĀ® pods are made out of a different material, the results are just as delicious and high quality as ever.
I am so excited to be partnering up with Keurig to GIVE AWAY a KeurigĀ® coffee maker and a selection of recyclable K-CupĀ® pods. Head to myĀ Instagram and enter for a chance to win.
Good Luck!!!
