While raising 2 little girls close in age, routines have become my best friend, so today I’ve decided to share with you our daily toddler bath time routine (which are ever changing). If you have a 21 month old and a three year old toddler on your hands, maybe you will find one or two helpful hints!
Our kids LOVE having baths, and after a hard day, bath time can be my SALVATION (hello killing at least 30 mins of your long day)!
From day one we have done bath time right before bed just to set the SIGNAL for bedtime and a few years and 2 kids later, I still swear by it. (Not to say that sometimes you don’t need to have MULTIPLE baths a day.)
So, after supper and a bit of play time we usually head upstairs and draw a bath (bubbles are always requested). Girls LOVE taking baths together. That’s one of the things I love about their age gap. It’s so cute watching them play and seeing them wash each other’s hair.
When it comes to shampoo and wash, I’ve been loving the JOHNSON’S® HEAD‐TO‐TOE™ extra moisturizing baby wash. I just love how nourishing it is. Since the kids spend the majority of the day in the sun and in the pool, their skin gets very dry in the summer. I LOVE how soft their skin and hair feels after bath time.
We usually get the girls out one by one (Ava loves to have just a few minutes to herself alone in the bath after Sophie gets out) and get them lotion, diapered and into PJs. They LOVE the whole lotion shebang. If you ask me, that’s why they take the bath, just to put lotion on themselves later.
Once again, such a big fan of JOHNSON’S® HEAD‐TO‐TOE™ lotion. I love that it has the perfect pH balance and is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin without drying it. It keeps their skin so silky smooth (and I love the smell).
Johnson’s is one of my favourite brands that I trust and love, all the products are so mild, gentle and allergy tested. They are all also paraben- and phthalate-free, as well as free of dyes.
After PJs are on, they both love to cuddle up with us on the rocking chair and read a book (or 3), and off to “beddy bye byes” they go.
I really do feel like no matter what age, bath time is such a great way to relax and unwind the kids before bedtime. It’s worked for us since the day we came home from the hospital, and it still works for us now. It’s also a great way to give the kids a familiar routine when you are travelling or not sleeping at home. I also love the JOHNSON’S® NEW HEAD-TO-TOE™ baby washcloths when you are on the go, like on the airplane, and don’t have time for a bath- so handy when you are travelling.
P.S. I just wanted to share that you can get a $1.00 OFF coupon for JOHNSON’S® products HERE.
